Nepal / Gaikhur, Clinic

After The Women's Center was built in Gaikhur, Gorkha District, it quickly became apparent that health care was also an equally pressing issue for this poverty stricken and remote area. The only health facility available to this and nearby communities was located an eight hour walk away through long winding mountains trails. The center now provides medicines in a small pharmacy on the second floor, but so much more is needed.

Behind The Women's Center, on the main trail that passes through the villages, there is a two-story building that Citta has just converted into a clinic. This building will has a pharmacy on the lower floor and a doctors consultation and treatment room on the second floor. The funds for the reconstruction of the building and first delivery of medicines have already been donated by Ninos Del Mundo in Spain (http://www.fundaciongrupotragaluz.org) and we are excited to get this project underway in an area that lacks any other Medical care for a 6-8 hour walk. Depending on our capability, we hope to treat Tuberculosis and begin immunization of all the children in the region while keeping records to monitor their healthy development.
